In this workshop we will explore different ways to create tree forms in mixed media. Emphasis will be on contemporary styling with unusual textures to create stunning landscapes.
Materials List:
Golden Fluid Acrylic paints - my favorite colors are on my website (carolnelsonfineart.com) Tube acrylics are OK, but not preferred. Supports - two 12x6 MDF panels - Judy will have available, or bring your own Stretched canvas or canvas board also OK, but not preferred. Two sheets wc paper about 12x15 - may use the back of an unsuccessful wc painting, if you have any. 1 inch flat brush suitable for wc or acrylics - NOT a bristle brush - this is what I use 80% of the time when working this size. Small detail brush Small (1 inch) palette knife Gloss Medium - matte OK, but not preferred. I use Gloss Medium & Varnish by Liquitex Gel Medium - I use regular gel medium (gloss) by Golden Gesso - small amount to cover the MDF panels Paper towels - Viva preferred Spray bottle of water. The best spray bottles are old hair spray bottles - better than trigger spray bottles. Spray bottle of alcohol. Roll of blue painter's tape. Black sharpie or India ink felt tip pen 12 inch ruler The usual stuff: water container, palette, hair dryer, scissors Carol will supply: Custom Patch from Home Depot, printed pattern papers, corrugated paper, burlap, Spanish moss, painted strips, aluminum foil, buckshot paper, foam sheets, foam core
