METALS AND MIXED MEDIA WORKSHOP - 3/12/2010 - 3/13/2010
Location: Art Cafe, 9110 Ralston Road, Arvada, CO
Event Dates: 3/12/2010 - 3/13/2010

If you want to learn new techniques, try new materials and add drama to your work, this 2-day workshop will kick-start your creativity.  You will create several abstract pieces using materials and techniques that may be totally new to you.  The emphasis of the workshop is showing what materials are available, how to prepare and use them, methods of attachment, and use of various supports and acrylic mediums.

You will learn how to use the following materials which will be provided:  copper, stainless steel, aluminum, Tyvek, metal leaf, epoxy resin, various brads, tacks nails, leather burlap, art papers, recycled materials, acrylic mediums, Venetian plaster, Masonite and/or MDF board.

Supply list:
  your favorite acrylic paints and brushes, small palette knife
  palette, water bowl, spray bottle, paper towels
  small hammer, needle nose pliers, hair dryer
  collage materials you have that you may want to work with

This workshop is sponsored by the Arvada Fine Arts Guild for their members. Nonmembers are invited to sign up after Feb. 15, 2010
Cost:  $110 AFAG members, $135 nonmembers (lunch and materials fee included)
